If you could find out what happens after you die, would you want to know?
Because what good would it do me? ie/eg,
...if all the deads' minds and souls (and whatnot) are gobbled by Cthulhu, what good would that foreknowledge do? It would just depress everyone. (if anyone believed me)
...if all the dead go to a perfect paradise full of wine and harps and singing and dancing, that's another useless bit of foreknowledge - only this one would have people dying early to get there.
...if all the dead are promptly reincarnated, I don't think I'd want to know what I'd be reincarnated into. But this would be more because of Shroedinger's cat, than anything else...having seen my future form, wouldn't I be locked into it, no matter what else I do in this life?
